China and Azerbaijan Held the First Round of Bilateral Market Access Negotiations for Azerbaijan’s WTO AccessionMOFCOM

The first round of bilateral negotiations between China and Azerbaijan regarding Azerbaijan’s accession to the World Trade Organization took place from January 13 to 14, 2025 in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The two parties held consultations over issues related to trade in goods and services, reaching consensus on several offers. Both parties agreed to accelerate subsequent negotiations to facilitate Azerbaijan’s early entry into the WTO.
Azerbaijan, which applied for WTO membership in 1997, is conducting bilateral market access negotiations with 21 WTO members, including China, the EU, and the U.S.
