On March 9 at the east time of the United States, the trade law enforcement working group of the Aluminum Association and its members applied to the Department of Commerce of the United States, requesting to launch anti-dumping and countervailing investigation against aluminum foil imported from China. Director of MOFCOM Trade Remedy and Investigation Bureau Wang Hejun made a statement on this.

Wang said that the aluminum industry of the two countries enjoyed a favorable cooperation foundation and the aluminum foil products had a strong complementarity. On one hand, Chinese aluminum foil enterprises export good-quality products to the United States and satisfied the demands of consumers; on the other hand, Chinese enterprises also imported needed aluminum foil from the United States. China hoped that the United States doesn't appeal to the trade remedy measures.

Wang emphasized that cooperation is the only correct choice for the two countries to realize mutual benefit and win-win results and the aluminum industries of the two countries had a broad cooperation room. In fact, the industries of both sides also maintained an open communication mechanism. It is hoped that the industries of the two countries can continue to solve the concerns by negotiations and dialogues. It is also hoped that the Department of Commerce of the United States can act cautiously and reject the investigation on the charges which may damage the mutual benefits and win-win results of both sides.
